Repeat photography is the practice of rephotographing the same locations at different moments in time. I have visited Detroit regularly since 2012 and have begun rephotographing many of the images I took between 2012 and 2014, when the city was going through bankruptcy and at its lowest point. I have used these photographs as a way of understanding the variegated nature of the city's recent renaissance - some areas have seen tremendous investment and rebirth, particularly in the Greater Downtown. However, many other parts of the city have seen continued abandonment and a distinct lack of investment. Click on the slide show below to see a selection of the repeat photography images.
